What We Teach

The Lighthouse is a church whose teachings are consistent with the basic core doctrines of the Christian faith.  We believe that there is one God who exists and relates to us as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  The mystery of the trinity is dynamic and relational and calls us into a relationship with this amazing God who created us, forgives us and redeems us in Jesus Christ, and now lives inside of us.

We teach and uphold in our core values that every person has been created by God in His image.  You are a masterpiece of God's handiwork.  But we are also a fallen people.  The Bible calls this sin.  People at the Lighthouse know and understand the brokenness and pain of life.  We've experienced, often with great struggle, the separation from God and the suffering our sin and life decisions have caused us.  In Jesus we have found forgiveness and grace.  In our relationship with God we have found freedom, healing and the power to live life one day at a time surrendering to His will.

We are a forgiven and redeemed people who know that sin is still a struggle in this life.  We teach that the church of Jesus is not for people who have life all figured out, but rather for people on a spiritual journey through the ups and downs of life.  We teach with a strong emphasis on God’s grace, recovery, forgiveness and hope.  We use the Bible, God's inspired word, as His guidebook for our lives.  The Bible reveals to us what God wants us to know about Himself and how we can fully live the life He desires for us.

No page on a website can encompass all that we teach or believe.  We consider ourselves an orthodox Christian Church.  But we are far from a normal church!  We are a place of love, encouragement, hope and recovery.  You do not need to believe what we teach to be part of our fellowship.  We respect people wherever they are on their spiritual journey.

Amongst our core values are:

No perfect people allowed!  Everyone is welcome...and we mean everyone!!!

Love people like Jesus loved them

Everyone is in recovery from something in life.

It’s all about Jesus!
